Private tutor in New Brunswick, NJ

Education

Senior Math Major and Education Minor at Rutgers University

Experience

I want to be a tutor because after graduation, I plan on becoming a high school math teacher and tutoring is a great step towards that goal. I have a genuine enjoyment of helping people with math because for one, I know how difficult and frustrating math can be if you do not understand certain aspects of it. Being a tutor is a great way to help someone who may be struggling because there is such a more personal touch to it that makes it easier for a student to understand the information they are being taught. I have tutored at the Whizard Academy in Somerset, where I have worked with students from kindergarten all the way up to high school. I have also done some personal tutoring for the ACT and SAT.

Hobbies

I am originally from Cedar Grove, NJ where I graduated Cedar Grove High School in 2010. While there, I played soccer, basketball, and through javelin throughout my fours years there and play in some intramural leagues at Rutgers for soccer and basketball. Currently, I am in a fraternity called Sigma Pi where I have been able to get involved with various organizations, such as Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen, The Ronald McDonald House, and Rutgers Dance Marathon where we collectively were able to raise $442,705 for the Embrace Kids Foundation. I’m pretty easy going and am very patient. I know how difficult math can be so I’ll always try to bring some humor to whatever is going on to alleviate the stress and pressure. There have been many ups and downs in my experiences with math so I can relate to anyone who has felt like giving up. But if I have learned anything, it is there is always a way of figuring it out.
